We are in Michigan. The post mark was 3/23.

Kind of mixed news here today. We understand that the $2,500 National Merit Letters went out last week and no letter here. Since Michigan is not a sponsor University, we were kind of hoping for that one. Wouldn't make any difference everywhere else because they are all sponsor Universities.

You win some you lose some.

In the end, it's all coming down to $ for us. In at Carleton, Grinnell, UChicago and Michigan Honors. I'm sure it will be Michigan due to substantial difference in $, although if a miracle occurred I'm sure DS would choose Carleton.

Last year 4450 applied and 1405 were accepted (32%). 1305 were offered places on the waiting list (29% of those who applied!), and 361 accepted a place on the waiting list. Of those 361, 10 were admitted (less than 3%). So it looks like it is relatively easy to get on the waiting list, but very difficult to go from the waiting list to getting admitted.

Congratulations! I hope y'all can attend one of the accepted students weekends - Carleton students do a great job of convincing prospies to attend. Still fondly remember my daughter calling me and telling me she bought the sweatshirt.

Out of curiosity, does the letter say how many applications were received?

I was waitlisted but received acceptance letters from two other schools at the same time, so there wasn't any sting to it. I have no hard feelings for those of you who were accepted - I would just like to congratulate you myself.

Me and my friend were admitted today! I got full tuition and she got only $4,000 in loan! We live in Texas for those of you who also live here! YAY!
