Hey guys! Let us all ask and discuss our questions here so that we all get to have a better understanding of the student life and academics at Carleton!!
Let me start. I am an international student from Iraq and was recetly offered admission to Carleton College (my top choice). I just had a few questions about Carleton College’s academics and student life. Firstly, as a student who does not drink (I am not against this and I respect everyone else’s views on drinking), I am planning on asking for a substance-free dorm, and I would be very thankful if I was provided with a brief summary on how the substance free dorms (or floors) and the students residing are. Which residence halls have substance-free dorms, and how are these halls. Secondly, I would like to know a bit more about the Biology major and curriculum in Carleton College. Is Carleton a strong college in the field of biology? Is the curriculum detailed enough? How often do students study in labs? Finally, I would like to know more about the research oppurtunites provided to students. Is it easy to participate in a research project? Can you conduct your own research? I would be very thankful if I was provided with a brief answer for the questions above!!
