You’ll get them in the mail before you get them online if you’re in the US. For international students, it might be the other way around!
Be sure to join the Class of 2020 (Student Official) Facebook page if you are accepted or waitlisted! (:

Why don’t they post it online?
@thehangingtree thanks It’s a tad annoying though because I’m on spring break and any mail is likely at my school.
Carleton actually has a note about this on their website. They like to do things the old fashioned way. They believe it’s more personal that way. If you don’t get it in the mail, they do post it on their website on the 26th at 5pm CT.
If they were sent today and I live in Minnesota, is there a chance I’ll get it by Saturday?
What makes us think they were mailed today?
The official Instagram page for Carleton said so. With photos to boot.
PS I had no idea you could get a photo to show up…
Possible Spoiler
Decisions were mailed today via USPS, but you may not need to wait. If you create an account with USPS (it’s free), you can see all incoming packages to your home. I have an “unknown” package with a tracking code 9274…blah blah blah blah. We all should have a package coming from Carleton. Then, you can use the tracking code to determine what type of mail you have. If it’s express, most likely means admit. If it’s standard, most likely means not admit.
This happened last week with WashU, only they used UPS rather than USPS. See if it works.
If you have no package then it was all just a dream…
I tried the MyUSPS thing and says there are no incoming packages
USPS only tracks priority mail. Look at their Instagram. These are sent normal first class mail. They don’t show up in the tracker.
As others have pointed out the packages are in the mail. Also in their admissions blog post. https://apps.carleton.edu/admissions/office_blog/?story_id=1392603 So we should be hearing by early next week? My D has gotten into several other schools that I know she’ll be happy if she attends, and more to hear from, but honestly I think there is something really special about Carleton, good luck to all!
I am in the same situation: deferred from ED1 I am very anxious right now…On Instagram Carleton said they had mailed the letters…
Carleton decisions may start appearing any time now. I am hoping I get mine today!
Does anyone know from prior years whether boarding school students get the decisions at school or at their home address?
Just received mail here in NY, no Carleton letter.
I really wanna get one thing clear. Is the “bubble-wrap & putt-putt” email an ad? Or…
Received acceptance today postmarked 3/17-live in northern Minnesota.
Congratulations! Nothing yet in northern Illinois. We expect by Monday. One way or the other!
