So I have been looking for a social science based summer program in or around Minnesota for a while now and Carleton's SQRI seems perfect. Though, I am hesitant to pay the nearly $3000 for a couple reasons that I hope the good people on CC could help me with.

1) The financial side- I know for a lot of people $3000 for a summer program doesn't sound bad except I am unable to get any financial aid because my parents are middle class but they don't have money to pay for any of it. I only have about $500 in savings because I am not allowed to work during the school year ( my parents force me to focus on academics, which is fine) but my grandparents have put away about $3000 for my college and have said I could take it out for this program but I am scared to not have ANY money saved away for college, I will be attending the college that gives me the most merit/financial aid because I am so scared of undergrad debt and not having anything financially going into college is very intimidating to me and I know $3000 when talking about college tuition is not much but it makes me feel like I have some sort of safety net under me.

2) The program- looking online, all I can find about the program is things from Carleton. I can not find reviews from any former students of the program or anything. I want to know if the program really does open doors, create connections, is academically stimulating and overall a beneficial and fun experience. So I was wondering if anyone knows someone or has gone themselves to this program. I can not imagine Carleton having a bad program but I want to know if it is worth spending my entire college savings.

Thank You!
