Hi folks, does anyone have perspective on Carleton College's Summer Science Program or WPI Frontier's Program? My son applied to both, hoping he can get a flash of insight into what he could major in. We're hoping he can get a flavor of college life that could inspire him to care more :-) He likes the mix of science + liberal arts at WPI, whereas Carleton has the course variety and research project (and is a week longer). Thanks a lot :-)

ok, 330 views and no replies - i’ll post on one of the school’s threadsonce the summer’s over!

Did he hear back from CSSI yet? I remember you were waiting to hear… We live fairly near to Carleton, and D goes to the campus for a high school competition they hold there annually (and I have been on the tour twice ) , so I have a pretty good flavor for the Carleton campus, what is around it, etc. No insight into WPI, though.

intparent, don’t laugh - he got an immediate reply after the passport question, the acceptance came in the email the next day, tuesday…and we only discovered yesterday when we went into his email to double check!! He’d left us his password since he’s out on a week-long school trip, but I was also a bit confused, since the application status page still showed him pending when i checked it the wednesday. All’s well that ends well

I’ve written to them, though, to ask if he’s indeed accepted to the second session, since, as you flagged earlier, the acceptance pack is a bit too vague on that front (although I loved the detailed rules/safety/no driving!)! I’ll send you a message with more details and i’m sure the kids will meet :-)
