Hey guys, I'm an undergrad transfer student. Recently I got two acceptence letter from U of M Carlson school of management and Indiana Unviersity-Bloomington. I'm not sure to choose which one. I'll be a soph in Fall 2010. U of M Carlson school accepted me directly into their BSB program, while IUB just accepted me into their university and I need to go through standard admission to get into Kelly school. But I heard that the rate of acceptence to Kelly school through standard admission is about 75%. So I could apply to Kelly school after my first semester.
I wanna major in Finance/Math or Finance/Acct.
I know Kelly school seems better than Carlson. But U of M's national ranking is higher than IUB. So is there anyone could give me some suggestions?
Thanks!

If you want to major in business go to Kelley. If you want to major in something else, go to Minnesota.

I am currently at Kelley and having a great time double majoring in finance and accounting (minor in econ). Kelley is particularly strong in finance and accounting and has been ranked as such (but IU is not too highly regarded in math). There are tons of recruiters from all over the spectrum of job opportunities that recruit here.

Also, you should probably visit both. The campuses (and weather) are much different.

maxellis,

Is the 75% acceptance rate into Kelley correct?

I have no clue for transfers. For regular students as long as you get a 3.0 and B’s or better your first year’s core classes (business and math) you will most likely get in.

Being accepted into Kelley doesn’t make you stand out. Taking advantage of all of the opportunities it offers and making the most of your time there will make you stand out more than anyone at Minnesota, though.

Kelley has top 10 finance and accounting programs. Go there and if you truly are smart and hard-working enough to deserve a top job, you will have the opportunity to get one.

I think you should go to Carlson, since you can’t spell Kelley correctly, you’re probably more interested in U of Minn.

thanks for the suggestions and infos, guys.
maxellis, thanks for sharing about what Kelley’s life like.
Is there any more people could tell me some about their experience in Carlson?
Thanks!
