Carlson Prestige????

Just wondering what the people of Minnesota think about Carlson. It seems like it's such a hard school to get into, yet its ranking is 48 in the businessweek journal.

I'm thinking of going to kelley (#16) over Carlson despite the overpriced Out of State tuition. I'll be paying 28k at Indiana vs. 20k at carlson. Is this a good move? What makes Carlson so great, competitive/selective??? Why does so many people want to go there so badly?

I'm trying to transfer to Carlson for next Fall.

I think the best thing about Carlson is their Recruiting/Career Services department. They seem to be able to place most of their students in jobs successfully. Another thing that it's advantageous is its location. It's located in the Twin Cities were there is a great deal of corporations (ie: 3M, Target, General Mills).

Kelley seems like a good choice too, that's actually one of my other choices. But I think I'd rather go to Carlson.. just my opinion, I'm in MN already.. and I'm not so sure how their recruiting is at Kelley (I haven't even researched that).

Are you transferring or applying as a freshman?

JK, please put reasons why so that Zouman can make their decision as well. I know people that are picking Carlson over Kelley, but I don't think that's a reason to go to Carlson and vice versa.

jkjkjk09, where r u at? Is kelley instate for u? how much money did u get from IU?

I'm sure Kelley is a great school.

I've heard it has a really big social scene and its ranked very good. So I'm sure it has a good program.

Also, U of M is opening their new building this upcoming semester. Hanson Building, State of the Art, blah blah... that should be fun/exciting... and.. Carlson also has a mandatory Study Abroad program.. it can be from a few weeks to a whole semester, depending on what you want to do..

Anyways, just talking a bit more about Carlson.
