carnegie architecture

im an incoming hs senior and am interested in carnegie. I'm planning to major in architecture and was wondering if there was anyone out there in that program or who knows someone in the program. if so, how do you like it? whats the best/worst parts about majoring in architecture? any other info/advice about it would be helpful! thanks!

Try the architecture thread in "Other Majors".

Try the CMU board. The major is known as being demanding and many students spend time together working which bonds the Archie majors and the Archie parties are evidence of this. Once again, CMU is amazing with its job networking and the education itself is second to none. Personally I think the worst part of it is that some Archies will only hang out with each other (kinda like the CFA drama kids) while the rest of the school is very integrated.

Having graduated architecture school, I can understand that they would hang out together. It is a very demanding curriculum with a crazy time-consuming work schedule. There is a bond that develops in that process with those that are going through it.

Okay well if this is indeed the case for all schools then I would throw my towel 100% behind CMU due to the jobs, education, student body, and recent improvement of Pittsburgh. Just try to branch out your friend network though :)

sweet thanks! oh yeah i just got excited when i became a member and just posted without checking where i was posting
