hi guys, i was wondering, i know carnegie electrical engineering is difficult to get into..but i was wondering how is the mechanical engineering? is it slightly easier to get into than? if so, how much.

Unweighted GPA: 3.743
SAT REASONING: 2130
(Math: 760 WR: 710 CR: 660)

SAT SUBJECT:
Biology: 720
Math IIC: 730
Physics: 700

Extra Creds:
Community Service: 220hrs
Microsoft Internship*
Habitat for Humanity and Ronald McDonald

I got into ME at cmu with similar sat1's and gpa. However, my phys was a 760 and i had an 800 chem. Not sure if that would make a big difference. If not, I think you'll be golden.

:)

I had about the same stats as you (10x more community service hours though) so you should have as good a shot as anyone. Though I am completely uncapable of gaging the new SATs. They confuse me, I don't care what anyone else says, they are just not retard friendly

You have an equal chance at both electrical and mechanical...trust me..if you really want it: go for the electrical
