Another applicant in Texas here, with no word yet. Also, for those of you who have received an acceptance, has your applicant status check page been updated to show that a letter was sent out on a particular date?

i live in richmond, va and got my letter today.

WV here and only 70 miles from Pittsburgh and nothing yet...WHY DO THEY INSIST ON US SEEING THE LETTER FIRST????

Accepted to MCS

nothing in Wisconsin, do rejections come after acceptances?

I got accepted to CIT and SCS. In the letter, however, i said I had access to a few listed departments to major in and the wrote "Because of the large number of qualifies students interested in Electrical and Computer Engineering, we are unable to include this department in our offer of admission"

.... what does this mean? Does this just mean I can't major in electrical engineering? Did anyone else receive a similar message?

Yeah, pequnio3. My letter said the same thing.

any west coast kids recieve anything?
i applied in HSS

I'm honestly sure i was rejected

also-when do rejection letters go out?

my CIT accept letter said the same thing about ECE, but i applied for MEG so idk...

As a reminder, if you get better finaid offers from certain other schools, you can request a review from CMU. They don't quite match the schools they consider their peer institutions - http://www.cmu.edu/ira/peer_institutions.htm - but should come back with an improved offer. You may want to talk to the finaid people directly to make sure they get your info.

Accepted! :)

MCS: Biological Sciences

i got accepted to CIT (I said that i wanted to major in electrical and computer engineering) but got waitlisted for SCS. Is anyone going to write a letter updating them and try to get accepted of the waitlist? ALso, does anyone know how many people got waitlisted for scs.

Is it possible that they send out acceptance letters first and then other decisions (rejections, waitlists) later? This is considering that people within a 5 mile radius of my location have received acceptances from CMU.

Maybe someone who applied last year can answer.

I think they do it batch by batch, thats how these rumors started, stating that they are sending their first batch, I hope these batches are random, or it is taking time to reach us. But it seems that all who got the mail are accepted and most have gotten into two schools. ALso, people who got rejected apparently won't post that "I got rejected" admist all the people who got accepted.
To those who got the letter, When was it postmarked?
