How is everyone able to check the waitliststatus? When I go to the link posted, I get:
"Waiting List Reply Form
To access Carnegie Mellon’s Waiting List Reply Form, you’ll need to log in with your Application ID (your Common Application ID). Please submit the Waiting List Reply Form by April 10 if you’re choosing the Priority Waiting List, or by May 1 if you’re choosing the Regular Waiting List.
Submit the Waiting List Reply Form - available on March 28.
At this time, there’s no need for you to request additional letters of recommendation—what we currently have on file is sufficient. "

@JayArRed CMU realised that people were using that to find out some of the results ahead of time and fixed the error. Now everybody has to wait until tomorrow.
Does not receiving anything in the mail indicate that you were rejected? I read the email notficiation about the portal update on Saturday and it says only waitlisted and admitted students are notified through postal mail.
To everyone who has gotten in so far, did you all have the new/extra stuff on the FA section? Cause I do but I didn’t receive a letter yet and I just got rejected from UC Berkeley so now CMU is my last hope…
My S received his official FAT packet today in Los angeles. He did have the 2 fa documents so I was hopeful it meant he was accepted. This comes on the heals of a rejection fron UCLA. He was waitlisted to Berkeley, oh well. Looks like he’s moving east!!!
I live in San Diego and I just got accepted today and received 2 of the exact same official FAT letters in the mail! What exactly are the FA documents everyone is talking about though?
@saraaa2 Congrats! The FA documents are Entrance Counseling and General Promissory Note. They appeared in some applicant’s Where Am I In the Process FA section.
Thanks @Callethiel I just checked my status for UMICH and was ACCEPTED! Applied EA -Aug. 30th and was deferred. Was my first choice for a very long time but lost hope the longer time went on. Can’t believe it! Good luck everyone here!
HI Scout,
My son is a first year at CMU and is loving it. I too had some reservations about him being far from home, the cost, the rigor but friends who have visited campus to see him say he is Happy. So my husband and I are happy. Good luck to your son.
