I am a male who applied. I wonder if they are done making calls yet…

I wish someone who has actually received a “call” would post and confirm. Carnegie2012 posted that the seniors have just returned to campus from NYC (Senior Showcase) and that all professors should be back now too. Carnegie2012 also stated that it will probably take a couple of days for all calls to be made. Hang in there!

great to know. Thank you :)

If it’s any help here - my daughter was called on a Monday night - this was a few years ago, but it was definitely a Monday night - As Mama1spice says - hang in there! Good luck!!

@mama1spice When did CarnegieMT2012 say it may take a few days? that would be awesome news, but just wondering where you saw that?

Check the CMU MT thread

“College Confidential > College Admissions and Search > College Majors > Musical Theater Major > Musical Theater Schools > Carnegie Mellon University MT
Anyone Hear Yet?”

It was a bit after 7pm if I remember. CarnegieMT2012 posted.

Great thanks!

Random question: if an MT major gets in for acting (which apparently happens often) does that influence the chance of an actor getting in? I guess logic would say yes…

Does anyone know if all the calls have been made yet?

A boy that my daughter knows got into CMU for MT. He’s from South Florida and last year I saw him as Fabrizio in The Light in the Piazza. Good looking kid with an AMAZING voice. Only 6 boys were selected for MT. That’s all I know but congrats to him- he’s very talented!

Did CMU finish calling people today or do you guys think there’s going to be one more day of calls?

In past years it seems they have called 3 days worth. Past threads talk of calls starting on Friday night and going through Sunday night…but they didn’t start calling this year until Sunday night. So they could potentially still have people to call I suppose.

Does anyone know if all acceptance calls of Acting (not MT) have been made? Has anyone that auditioned for the acting program received an “offical” no yet?

WillShake , according to CarnegieMT2012 post on the MT thread, (I believe she is a senior at CMU) - she said that all of the calls Acting and MT have been made. My D applied and did not receive a phone call. At this point students that did not receive the acceptance via phone call will wait for the online decision of Waitlisted or Rejected. The decision will be available online Tuesday, March 27th.
