***Carnegie Mellon ED Discussion Thread***

Applying ED to Carnegie Mellon? Post your thoughts/predictions/whatever in this forum! I didn't see one of these threads already, so I decided to create one.

BTW, I'm applying ED I.

you would LOL

The Carnegie Mellon forum is like a ghost-town, so I hoped this thread would attract other posters. It would be sad if the two of us are the only posters on this thread by 12/15. :)

I’m applying ED1 as well. Good Luck.

what are your stats?

Hey guys, what does it say on your “Where am I in the Process” page? Mine says “Supplementary Materials #1” right after “Application Complete.” I’ve heard that some people have “Application File Pulled…” on their page so I’m getting really worried.

I’m applying EDI too… ugh 20 more days of torturous waiting :frowning:
I haven’t seen an “Application File Pulled” yet either, or a “Supplementary Materials #1,” but I do have “Application Processed” and “Application Complete”…
Also do you guys know if we get decisions on the 15th or if they mail the letters on the 15th?

From previous threads, it seems like the decisions get mailed 3+ days before they go online. Some people who their decision as early as 12/12, but others only found out by 12/20. The admissions office says we should all know by the 15th however.

Ok, I’m a parent, but I just checked my D’s “Where Am I?” Yesterday when I checked it looked like it always has, but today it says “Error Getting Applicant Data. Contact Admission Office for more information.” I am, of course, worried sick that it’s bad news. Anyone want to guess or prepare me for the worst so I can prepare my D? Ugh…

I think you should just contact the admissions office. Usually, that message means that the application is missing a required file. You could still apply for ED I. At worst, they’ll put your for ED II or something. In any case, good luck.

It must have been a glitch with the system. The page is back up and all is fine. Whew…that was crazy for a few hours! All materials are in and accounted for plus she has had her audition (really interview/portfolio review). Perhaps movement is beginning to be made! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you! :)

That’s great! Don’t bother crossing your fingers for me however, I probably won’t get in. My essay are probably not good enough (I’m being serious BTW, not just looking for attention).

Mine only says Application Complete… I don’t see “Application File Pulled” or “Supplementary Materials #1” should I be worried? Ugh, 17 more days…
Which school did you guys apply to?

I applied to MCS. I don’t think “supplementary materials” actually matters They probably only listed that because I sent them a supplemental rec.

My D applied ED1 CIT and sent her application in early October. Yet her Where Am I in the Process has not changed. The header states “Admission and Financial Aid Notification” but this has stated this since she applied. It looks as though they have all the documents. Should we be concerned about this. Does anyone else still have this header?

I’m really glad I found this forum to share my anxiety lol. I just spent half an hour reading the ED I thread from last year, I found myself getting caught up in their suspense. :/

I have the same header! I don’t think my header ever changed either.

Hey guys, I have a question about admission officer interviews. My friend and I both had interviews with admissions officers on campus. A week after his interview, my friend got a letter in the mail saying that his interviewer really liked him. Is this unusual, or do most applicants get one?

Everyone who has an interview receives a conformation letter for it. It may say something like “we like to see students taking an interest”. But a personal letter regarding whether or not the councilor liked you I think would be unlikely.

Wow. I wish I had one those letters right now. So nervous…
