***Carnegie Mellon ED Discussion Thread***

super nervous too.
i applied to tepper…i really wanna get in and be done with this whole process loool.

good luck to everyone here!

Wasn’t nervous when I first sent in my application but now that the date is approaching i just want to know if I got in or not…

I agree kennyz32. I wish colleges were mandated to release ED decision on December 1st. That way, students would still have 1 month for other apps in case they procrastinated (not that I’m procrastinating).

Did anyone else here get the interview letter with the words ‘flattering remarks’ included somewhere?

My friend’s letter contained that phrase. We’ll have to wait until decisions come out to see if these letters have any affect on admission.

I’m going to venture to say that the letters do not give any positive indication of the probability of acceptance. S got one too last year, thanking him for basically showing interest in the college (through the interview). Know it’s tough right now but try to get on with other aspects of life as you wait. If you’ve put enough effort into it, you’ll land in the right place.

I just spent the last hour looking at last year’s thread as well… it’s so weird hearing about my friends’ results from colleges like Dartmouth and Columbia and not even knowing when my own results will come out :frowning: I wish they’d at least tell us when they’re planning to release the decisions…

I think decisions will come out on 12/16, like last year.

Who applied to DIETRICH???

I DID! i guess we have it much easier than all the SCS people but i’m nervous nonetheless

From Twitter today: “@CM_Admission: You’ll be able to see your decision on “Where Am I in the Process?” on the 15th.”

Almost 8 days left guys!!! I hope we all get in ^^

On the 15th? A receptionist at the admissions office said we’d have to wait till the 18th -.- It seems like last years ED’ers were only notified on the 16th or 17th. Hope you’re right luv2go2college.

At the Sleeping Bag Weekend my daughter did, one of the current students, who was ED last year, said it was the 17th before he found out his decision.

I’m getting very nervous for all of you! I’ve been reading all the threads about CMU, both in the drama threads and others. It appears the Musical Theatre kids get phone calls first telling them of their acceptance. I wonder if that is also true for the Design and Production kids? I’ll be a wreck by next Saturday, and my daughter has an audition/interview that day with another Pittsburgh school that is probably #2 on her list. Ughhh…the pressure…don’t know how you kids do it and still focus on school!

Last year my son’s ED acceptance was posted on Friday, December 17th about 1pm Utah time. It was a nice way to start the weekend!

I logged into my account and it says “unable to retrieve information”! What does that mean…???

The “unable to retrieve” message happened to my D last week. It was that way for about three hours and then went right back to normal. I have no idea what happened.???

People find out at different times whether they are accepted or not based on location and mailing events. People from all over the country apply and there is always mailing delays/mishaps. When you guys applied you should of read that it said your Acceptance Letter, if you are accepted, will be mailed three days before status is updated online Dec. 15th.

My S and his friend got their ED results last year on Dec. 17th- way before the letter finally arrived at our house in Texas. He wanted us there when he logged in and we were quite shocked as it was quite a reach for him. CFA- design.

This may sound stupid, but is anyone interested in trading supplement essays? With decisions approaching, I’m becoming less confident about my essay and am getting really nervous.
