***Carnegie Mellon ED Discussion Thread***

Goingnutsmom, I’m thrilled to hear a success story out of CFA design ED! We are extremely nervous over here waiting on that decision! This is also a huge stretch for my daughter, but if she didn’t try we would always wonder.

Good luck to all as we go into this last week of waiting!

Five more days… wow I can’t believe it’s so close. Does anyone know exactly what time our decisions get released on Saturday?

I am so nervous too!!!
I don’t exactly know what time…
Probably around like 5 P.M. EST

As of today, there is a new listing under “Admission Documents Received” that says: “Early Decision Agreement”.

Is this anything significant?

I think that’s just the ED form on the common app. I have that on my process page, but its been there for over a month.

Anyone know around how many applicants get accepted early for Tepper? The freshman class size is so small :(

I just don’t want to end up stressing about this if it’s just a pipe dream lol.

Around 11% were accepted ED to Tepper last year. The year before that, about 13% were admitted ED. You have remember, however, that ED applicants are usually less qualified than RD applicants.

Oh, wow. Thanks for the info!
Where did you find those stats?

Last year’s overall admission statistics: [Carnegie Mellon Admission | Admission Statistics](Admission - Undergraduate Admission - Carnegie Mellon University)

Actually Tepper admitted 11.94% last year, but NO DATA has been published on ED vs RD acceptance rates for Tepper or any other individual school within CMU.

If you call the admissions office, they can tell you last year’s ED acceptance rate for each college. As for the statistics I posted, I got them during my visit.

^FateGoneAwry16, do you happen to also know the ED acceptance rate for DC?

Last year, the ED acceptance rate was 31.18% at DC. Btw, the only reason I know these numbers is that I was considering applying ED to either Tepper or DC for a while :P

Even I’ve applied ED to SCS. Fingers crossed, let’s hope we all make it!
Ahhh. The nervousness is killing me :P

[I’m an international student]

I applied ED to SCS too! So nervous…4 more days guys…the wait is almost over…almost. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! :)

I applied to DC!
Can not be more nervous!!!

I applied to MCS and am extremely nervous. I’m finding it really hard to concentrate on my other applications.

Oh my! I checked my D’s application status one more time this morning. For a very long time the last item on the Received Items list was the part that said Application Complete and the October date. Today, it finally shows all three theatre letters of recommendation, which were received in mid November. It just set my nerves off all over again. This is the looooooongest week!

i’ve decided not to place my faith in an ~11% acceptance rate, haha.

whatever happens happens, i guess. if i get in i’ll be super happy but if not i dunno if i’ll really be upset because the outcome would only be what i expected. best of luck to the rest of you, though. you all seem really qualified! :)

Hey guys, I just called the admissions office and they told me my decision has already been mailed. They said that my decision should be available online on the 17th. I’d highly suggest that everyone call admissions.

Also, has anyone else been procrastinating on apps lately? I hope I’m not the only one. :(
