<p>hey i'm new to college confidential and well my main reason for joining is feedback, so if you have any pointer go for it....well anyhow i'm a junior currently and i'm hoping to get into carnegie mellon so i just want to know how i rank relative to other ppl and what my chances are as of now. here is some basic info.</p>

<p>i slacked off freshman year (2.8 gpa) but since then my GPA has not gone below a 4.0 which is why i was able to raise it to a 3.8, i'm studying for SAT II's and i will be taking the new SAT, also i hope to raise my ACT score and GPA a little higher by the end of this year. so some feedback on my chances of getting in plz</p>

<p>I want to go to Carnegie Mellon too. I would love to discuss it with you. Your GPA is really high, and maybe we can answer each other's questions. I go to the university's website often. Maybe that will help.</p>

<p>If that 3.8 GPA is unweighted then you've got a decent chance, if its weighted then you may have a bit of trouble with the 2.8 you got freshmen year.</p>

<p>hey i have a question, well i guess i should look more into their athletics, but lets say i go the distance this summer and bring my mile time down to around 4 min and 20-30 second range. that should place me in states and possible a spot to place. would that perhaps improve my chances or help me, if so how would i take advantage of that</p>

<p>by the way guys by the time i graduate i'll have around 14 AP classes... ive already taken AP spanish lang and got a 5 and well american history i didn't care for and didn't pass :(</p>
