Carnegie Mellon or Texas U. For ChemE?

Hi.
So, let's say I got accepted to both colleges.
Which one should I pick?

UT has a higher ranking in Undergrad chemE but CMU is Also a very prestigious school.

My ultimate goal is to go to a very good GRAD school, not getting a job.

So...what should I do?

Go to Texas - cheaper.

What about the admission the grad schools? Money isn’t the issue here

Won’t make a difference.

My son is a college senior attending a flagship ranked below UT…He’s being recruited by all the top schools…because of his GPA and his GRE scores. THAT is what matters. That’s what top grad schools care about.

Don’t know about Texas, but top grades are hard to come by at CMU engineering. It does NOT have grade inflation. Texas is such a large school that I imagine there are some lower scoring students who will bring down the curve.
