Carnegie Mellon or UWaterloo?

Hi folks,
I'm willing to major in Applied Maths or Electric Engineering in my college,
And could anyone help me evaluate the pros and cons to get into each college?
Such as, which has the more rigorous study criteria?
which one has more opportunities of internship?
Which one can provide me with a better chance in getting into a big enterprise in the future?
Etc...

It’s much much harder to get into CMU than Waterloo. If you get into both, go to CMU.

I wouldn’t select college on sole basis of admissions difficulty. Waterloo is a very good school for engineering and sciences, and I would give it a serious thought.

Waterloo has an excellent co-op program. Not only will you be able to get internships, you will be able to hold part-time job(s) and earn a good bit of money (usually from $30,000 to $75,000) before graduation. You will gain job experience and build connections. That would help you find more jobs and earn a higher starting salary than if you didn’t participate in the program.
