Carnegie Mellon Qatar or transfer next year?

Hi Guys,
So the best University I was accepted to was Carnegie Mellon In Qatar. The pro is that it meets the large amount of financial aid I need as an international student however, the financial aid is all in the form of loans- that means I’ll be 200k in debt by the time I graduate. However, the computer science degree might be worth it. Should I go for it or try to apply for a transfer next year from a Pakistani University (I have a 1500 sat and will end school as an almost straight A student).
Also the other good offer I’ve gotten is a 75 % scholarship plus free living from Sabanci.
I’m really confused at the moment so opinions would be really valuable!

Hi, i needed some information about the financial aid offered by cmu q.
I got accepted there recently and just wanted some info.
Is it possible to contact you somewhere?

$200k is enough debt to ruin a person financially. Most physicians coming out of medical school don’t have that much debt. I would definitely look at alternative options.

Yeah sure you can talk to me here

Loans aren’t financial aid. Forget CMU Qatar.
Where else have you been admitted?

Loans @ CMU Qatar have unique loan forgiveness options. This could be great option for an international student from Pakistan, from the website:

“Aid Program administered by Qatar Foundation. Loans of up to 100% of tuition and fees can be made to families based on their unique financial circumstances. Please note: The QF Financial Aid Committee does not guarantee to meet 100 percent need even if a student qualifies for aid. Students residing outside of Qatar are only eligible to receive loans up to 90% of the cost of attendance at Carnegie Mellon Qatar, according to the policy of Qatar Foundation.”

The loans can be repaid either by normal financial installments or by time served working in Qatar immediately following graduation. The second option, known as the “Paid Service Option” is unique to Qatar and it enables even students with heavy debt loads to have their loans forgiven if they work in Qatar for an approved Qatari entity.
