Carnegie Mellon RD discussion thread 2016

@serena1127: mine has not changed since Jan 29. Only 2 entries : application viewbook and receipt email. :|

Does everyone have a button that says “Financial Aid Notification” in their Where Am I In the Process account?

I think we all have the “Financial Aid Notification”, yeah.

Very nervous, I’m in California so I won’t get it for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

Think it will arrive on Monday in CA? If not hopefully by Tues…

Lost my Application Id… CMU’s website is making this really difficult -.-

LOL @lostfirecape. do you play RS? hahahha. oh and i wrote my common app essay on RS<3

Please let it be here in CA tomorrow pleasepleasepleaseplease.

Lostfirecape, if you log into commonapp, it’s on the left top corner.

Hi,

Sorry for being slow. What is this thing about UPS? I’m an international student too. I did not opt for DHL delivery or anything like that. Does that mean I will not receive my mail? D=

Hmm. It was a 7-9 hour drive from IL to PA when we visited, so I’m hoping decisions arrive tomorrow for IL?

@simp1eton, "If you do not elect to have your decision l etter sent via UPS Worldwide Saver, it will be sent via DHL International Economy Service, which provides express service to your domestic mail system. It can take three to six weeks for you to receive your decision letter. "

its just a matter of time…actually in my account it states that it has sent me a copy of viewbook on Jan 29th ,while I havent received it yet…=0=

I was actually considering writing my essay on my addiction to RS in 9th grade.

Hopefully I get my decision today in Missouri…any hope for someone with a 3.8uw/32act getting into h&ss for econ?

^Your ACT score and UW GPA are higher than the H&SS averages, so objectively speaking, I’d assume you’ll get in. Of course, there are other variables that shouldn’t be marginalized, such as essays, extracurriculars, course rigor, etc., but based on objective stats, I think you’ll get in.

Also, hope to see you there! I’m another H&SS hopeful!

UGHHHHHH. Just got my mail for the day, and NO DECISION LETTER. Looks like I’m going to have to wait till 11. (Illinois)

I got a letter from the Office of Admissions today (live in NY), and I thought it had my decision! But I got this weird form instead, a “Reduced Income Form” which said that I could explain my special circumstances from the Profile here. I didn’t ask for it though, and the info I put in that section of the Profile was mostly about my noncustodial parent. Anyone have any idea what this is about, or why this would be sent from the Office of Admission instead of the Financial Aid Office? Do you think it’s a condition of my acceptance?

I got the same thing, but no admission decision. I live 2 hours away. Gonna be up late tonight!

I got the same letter from the Office of Admissions about financial aid “Reduced Income”. And actually the postmark dates it to be sent last Friday (AKA when admission decisions were sent) which has me worrying they didn’t bother sending my letter of rejection and decided to just have it online otherwise I would have gotten a decision letter, right?

Mine was postmarked the 24th…after decisions were sent out. WTH!?

i would think that a letter about finanacial aid would be indicative that you were accepted wouldn’t it…otherwise why would they sent it. I think it is a good omen for you both
