Carnegie Mellon TOEFL

So I turned in my application for CMU, and on the application there were a few questions about language. I’m fluent in 2 languages, and I marked down both English and Chinese. However, I marked Chinese as my “first language” (CommonApp states that this is the first language you spoke). I moved to the US when I was 3, and I spoke Chinese at home before I started kindergarten. I’ve been hearing some stuff about how CMU wants the TOEFL or equivalent if you marked down any language other than English as your first language. Obviously I’m fluent, and would prefer not to have to do the test (especially since it’s a little bit too late to take the TOEFL now in time for the deadline).

Can any of you guys help me out on this? I’ve done some research but nothing concrete is really coming up. If it helps, I have a 760 in SAT CR and a 36 in ACT CR. I won’t be able to make a phone call to them until after the deadline.
