I am a senior in high school, but my cousin had almost the same issue. He chose to go to CMU and study computer science/ undeclared engineering. He was big into the math and sciences but was unsure what specific field he wanted to pursue. Anyway, he chose CMU but was disappointed. He tried to stick it out, but ultimately ended up transfering to Binghamton, which has a great engineering/science program. The problem with CMU was not only the overloaded curricculum, but also the bleak social life. He is very happy at Binghamton right now, and raves about the quality of the academics. Plus, Binghamton is about 1/3 of the price of CMU.

but i don’t think i will probably go to bing. It’s really between wesleyan and cmu. While your comment does change things a little for me, Can others tell me if that is true for them also?

Also, how are wesleyan’s engineering/mathematics programs?

Wesleyan doesn’t have its own engineering department… instead it has a 3-2 program with Columbia and CalTech (3 years at Wes, 2 at Columbia or CalTech). The math department is small, but from what I hear, not too shabby.
