<p>Both have outstanding reputations. You will get an excellent undergraduate education at either.</p>
<p>However, two points are in CM’s favor:</p>
<p>(1) Carnegie Mellon has the advantage that it is not just a technical school, and will therefore have a larger variety of courses, opportunities, and a much more diverse student body.</p>
<p>(2) WPI is not as well known outside the northeast, whereas CM has a more national reputation, especially in computer science, robotics, etc, where it is considered one of the best in the whole country.</p>
