Carolina Student

Hey guys! I am going to be a student at UNC this fall, and I remember how stressful the admissions process was for me. I checked this page daily and was constantly looking at test scores and chance threads.

However, I can relay some advice for you all that I wish I would have known. For one thing, test scores are not as important at UNC as you may think. When the admissions office says, "We won't turn you down because of a single number" they mean it. I'm from a small NC town and there were people who got into Carolina with SATs in the 1600's and low 1700's.

Another thing, really focus on the essay. You have to stand out. Just be yourself, be creative, and tell the admissions officers what or who inspires you.

Lastly, try to enjoy your senior year without stressing over the entire process. Once you submit your application and have no control over the decision, don't worry about it! If you have any questions at all, just let me know!

What kind of GPA should you have ( weighted and unweighted)?
