Caroline D. Bradley Chances

It may be betting closer to 1000-1500 since more apply each year…

I’m screwed… I have to apply next year :frowning: :(

That really sucks, but thanks for telling me cba

This year marked the largest number of highly qualified applicants we have received since our program began in 2002. Out of hundreds of eligible applications, 26 Finalists were selected to be interviewed; from the Finalist group, 12 Caroline D. Bradley Scholars will be selected. Your application showed tremendous achievement, diligence and creativity in school and in your extracurricular activities, with outstanding recommendations and testaments to your current accomplishments and future potential.

Congrats, your child must be the finalist. Did they email you the finalist letter today already? My son received the phone call today as well. He is also one of the finalists. Good luck! Wow, only 12 instead of 15 scholars this year.

Got the call then the email

Congratulation!!!Chuchumom and Middleschoolmoom. Your S or D must be extrodinary. Do you mind sharing their major profile. Just curious to know how extrodinary kids can get this merit based scholar.

With only 26 choosen, a profile of the applicant can easily give away who they are. I would love to know, as a future applicant myself, but it would be best kept as a private message. It doesn’t stop once they get or are finalists in the scholarship, because many of the CDB kids are applying to prep school.
I’m sure you two already know that, but just a heads up for anyone else.

FYI, Post the reply to answer original question:How many applicants? So the answer is hundreds not thousands . Good luck to all!
It shows your past hard work just to be eligible!

Um, hi, everyone! I know that no one has replied to this in a while, but I figured that this was worth a try. I applied for CDB…and became a finalist. I’m interviewing in the beginning of August. Any tips?
Thanks :)

Bubblegum - Congratulations, that’s great. Good luck!

Thanks, 2prepMom!

Bubblegum321 - how did the interview go? I just got word that my D did not make the Finalist round. Even though I knew it was a long shot, I still couldn’t help but feel disappointed. My D worked really hard on her essays (even did the optional essay) and tried to showcase her music, art, poetry, athletics, and leadership roles. She’s very well rounded and consistently scores in the 98%-99% percentile. Her recommendations were also fantastic - not sure what the committee was looking for and don’t know of anyone who made the Final rounds so am very curious of your child’s profile and the interview ?.

Thanks.

@RobertFrost
Well, I haven’t had my interview yet…it’s scheduled for the beginning of August. Anyway, as for my profile, I’m really not sure what set me apart.
My SATs were probably in the 80th percentile over all…but writing was in the 95th, though my math wasn’t as high. Other than that, I’m not really sure what I had that they wanted…I just tried to be myself and hope for the best!
Anyway, as for your D, don’t give up hope! Based on what you’ve said about her, she sounds like a fantastic prep school candidate!
Best of luck!
Sincerely,
Bubblegum321

Thanks Bubblegum321 - best of luck to you. You sound so humble and grounded. I hope you are a finalist so all of us at CC can vicariously feel like a Caroline D. Bradley Scholar. Keep us all posted.

@RobertFrost- Haha, will do!! And thank you!! :)

Just received a phone call that my S has been chosen as a Caroline D. Bradley Scholar this year. So excited!

Bubblegum321, good luck to you, too.

Congratulations!

Kudos to all CDB Scholars this year! :)

Are there any other programs like this?

@NewEnglanderDad - Congrats to your son!!! You must be so proud. As I mentioned, my D did not get chosen as a finalist for the CDB Scholarship but it put her on a path to research Prep Schools in the North East. Boarding School in South Florida is not common so we didn’t have anyone to really share the process with.

My D just returned from her interviews from Andover, Exeter, Deerfiled, and Choate. They all went well. Now just keeping our fingers crossed while waiting to hear whether she is accepted in March.
