Are any of yall ordering carpets? Does this mean they havent assigned our dorms and roomates yet, because wouldnt they have to pair you with someone who picked the same color?

Or maybe im misunderstanding, bc I havent gotten the mailing yet, only heard about it…=)

it's a pointless mailing. It's not really carpets, they're wall to wall rugs i believe. Just something to order if you dont like having a hard tile floor i guess.

so can you order them after you find out your room details? Is there a deadline?

"A carpet is only guaranteed to be waiting for you on campus if we receive your order by August 19th."

Earlier in the letter it says

"Although carpets will be available on campus for sale during move-in, this is the only way to guarantee your order."

There will be carpets left during orientation. Don't worry.

When I visited the floors were really cold and rather dirty-looking, although I'm sure they're actually quite clean. I would reccomend ordering a carpet.

Speaking of ordering stuff, are we meant to be ordering sheets and other things too? I'm in India right now so I'm not getting any of the mailings for anything.

you could just bring your own sheets. And when i stayed in the summer for a month, i lived with the tile floors, yeah, they're not pretty, but when you spill something (and without a doubt you will spill stuff) not having a rug makes it really easy to clean it up.

Yeah, but having a rug means you don't have to clean up at all...oh wait thats gross.
