So i live in Los Angeles, and i could leave to SD Friday on the train, but i was thinking i could carpool with another admit to ucsd =] it would be a great way to meet someone else and a way to save cost on gas. I would be willing to carpool with someone there but will have to see about coming back since i'm not sure when am coming back lol. If i could, i could also come back with you but we could talk about it later. I am willing to leave from Thursday night to Friday afternoon, maybe night as i have a party friday night at UCSD ;) lol.
Just to be clear i dont have a car and im just looking for someone to drive me there. I take the train often to UCSD so i know my way around but would be nice to go with someone.
Please just send me a msg if you're interested.

:)

What a great way to be kidnapped and taken to Mexico!

■■■■■ people are worried about GETTIN accepted to the school, ■■■■■ and you frantic about getting there for admit day the cheapest route?

buttt nevertheless, hope it all works out for you and much success to your future endeavors @ UCSD.

swagggg.

Hi ealarcon1991, do you take the amtrak? If so, does it leave you near UCSD or do you have to take another bus there? Also, where do you get off the train? Old Town? I am asking because this will be my first time taking the train to UCSD. Thank you.

lol ^

and yes i take the amtrak and most likely i will take it this friday. Get off at Solana Beach and the walk up the stairs, cross the bridge and cross the street, you will have to walk less than a block. Then take the bus 101 and its about 30 mins from there. I take that route because after solana beach the next stop in san diego and its 30 mins away and it costs around 35 bucks from union station while getting off at Solana Beach from union station (LAX) its 25. Also if you get off at san diego then you would have to take a bus back and idk that route but i think its more complicated. When you get the 101 make sure its going to UTC and i think u can get off at Gilman or just stay on the bus and when you see many students getting off you can get off, also you will see the village first and then then marshall and then muir i think. If you get off at the Village is gonna be a long walk to the center of campus where everything will be at.
The bus is 2 bucks =]

Also neither stop will leave you close to UCSD, u will have to take the bus.

Thanks a lot!!! I had actually google mapped it before and wanted to know if you knew a better route there, but this seems to be the best one! It will leave me close enough to where I will be staying Friday night! Also, do the trains come every 30 min, every hour? Thanks again :D

^ ur welcome, and the amtrak times are at amtrak. com
i think the have 1 every hour except at noon and in the evening which i think its btwn 1-2 hrs. and the buses are around 30-1 hr wait so plan ahead so u dont end up waiting too long for the bus
