After freshman year- yes? No? Is a bike better? What do you guys recommend?

Bike is clutch. After freshman year its really nice to have a car, it makes life a lot easier.

I never want to see my car when I'm at college. It's a huge potential financial drain and I'll be perfectly satisfied to bring a bike and cope without it.

I don't think you are allowed to have a car on campus freshman year. Many people get around on bikes, skates. Although it has limited service, Advance transit (the bus system) is free.

Yeah, I would never want a car. I can get anywhere on campus from anywhere on campus within 10-15 minutes walking, and parking isn't all that great. And I rarely feel the need to leave campus. Ergo, I don't have one.

no point, theres nowhere to go... all that you need is on campus.

its erego wisconsinguy =) and what type of bikes do u guys ride i got a mosh dirt jumper 3 its not one of those weird 18 speed things

Ergo="thus" I.e. "Cogito ergo sum."

well then whats erego?

I don't think it's anything.

I think therefore I spell.

erego=pigeon-english for "there we go"

Have a (good) friend who has a car.

Do not keep a car on campus.

thats exactly why my dad said for m not to bring a car he says cuz others will want to use you for it

i've been to dartmouth; there's nowhere to put a car. Not only that, but where on earth in hanover new hampshire would you want to go so badly that you need a car. God gave us the only transportation we need at D-mouth; its sitting right below your torso.

do people use bikes during the winter?

i've heard from current students that the grounds people at D-mouth remove snow at a freakish speed, so I imagine you could still use a bike during Hanover's 8 month long winter

Yeah, bikes are so important. Cars are fun for road trips. There's an auction in manchester you can pick up a decent car for less than $500. I bought a 1988 BMW 535i there for that price. No insurance required in NH, but I got liability. I sold it after two years for $800.

Sweet- I love New Hampshire!
