I got my e-Bill statement for this month which was in the thousands--kind of shocked seeing such a high number. Turns out it was for summer session fees. I recently dropped a class that I was going to take during the summer, but it still shows up in my statement. The due date for payment is March 15th, and I don't want to pay the fee simply assuming that I'll get it refunded once the system realizes I dropped the class.

What should I do? Wait it out and hope my statement changes before March 15th? Just pay and trust I'll get my money back? Make some (possibly frustrating) phone calls?
Also, we haven't yet received notice of financial aid for the summer...assuming we get aid, will our tuition fees get refunded, and when?

Go to bearfacts, under CARS, and look at your quickstatement. That is updated each day and if the amount due is no longer in the thousand range, then they have already removed the charge.

The ebill statement is done on a single day and doesn’t change, even if your account has had charges removed or added. Think of it as a photo of a paper bill that was mailed to you, while the quick status on bearfacts is the actual balance as of the day before usually (updates in the morning each day).

BUMP!
I still paid the fee because it was due 4/15, but can someone tell us how we can get our financial aid because the estimator said I get full tuition…

First you need to accept the financial aid offer. You can only do this once, so if you change classes, you might not get FA for any of your classes.

Second if you already paid the fee, you will probably get a refund later when the financial aid pays out.

If you already accepted your offer, will financial aid send the money to CARS by the time it is due or do you have to pay first and then wait for a refund?
