Is it a good idea to bring a car to uf,
I know that its a college town, and everything is on campus, but I plan on doing research, and i would need a ride to get to the place right, I dont want to be a burdain on anyone.

Supposedly the bus system (RTS) is fairly good. Are you talking about research on campus? Why would you need a car for that? I hear sometimes it's a burden to try and go to the grocery store on the bus because that severely limits the amount of items you can purchase. Other than that.. I don't see what else you would really need a car for. I'm not bringing mine (at least not this semester)

Unless you not getting a meal plan and shopping at publix every week. Or driving home. Then you dont need a car your first year. The only real dorms that cater to freshmen parking is hume, simpson, trust, grah area (tolbert and weaver could also be included). Most research is in close walking distances, so that should be a problem.

I'm not bringing a car, but I am bringing a Vespa. That'll, with hope, get me where I need to go without being such a PITA so far as parking goes.

ive heard that u cannot have a motorized vehicle in school hour, can someone clarify, my friend are gettting a bike and told me to not to get a scooter

You can have any motorized vehicle you wish, from a stand-up scooter to a motorcycle. There are different parking areas for these vehicles, and different restrictions according to the type of vehicle you have. You can't, for instance, drive on the sidewalk with a motorcycle (and I hope you wouldn't anyway), but there's nothing stopping you from having one.

I'd say that a bike is a very good option, so long as you (1) realize that bikes get stolen left and right if you're not careful, and (2) you get a strong U-lock for the bike.
