Cars/Parking

I know all students are allowed to bring a car and parking is free, but is there enough parking? I'm planning on bringing my car so I just want to make sure that I will have a place to park it. Any information is greatly appreciated.

yes there is plenty of parking. It gets a little harder during the school day when the commuters are there. On the weekend it is fine. My D usually always parks in the lot near her dorm. SOme of the other dorms are a bit of an uphill walk to the main lot. wHen I've gone to visit or go to a basketball game parking has been fine.

Good to hear, thanks.

When I talked to the Alumni and Faculty at the reception they said don't bring it. They said you won't use it and it will just sit in the sun. I'm sure you will be fine with a car, but from everyone I talked to, sounds like you won't use it much. Also, a lot of the parking is parallel, so watch out if you have a big car.

I would actually suggest bringing a car if you have one, or hope to make friends with someone who has a car.

I don't have a car, but my roommate brought hers, and she's really cool about driving us around. She doesn't use it on a daily basis, but definitely enough to make it worth having. Trips to Ralphs and Malibu Yo alone make it worth it; there are Pepperdine shuttles that go down there, but if you have a car you don't have to try to match your schedule with theirs. Plus the times when you just want to get off campus, there's really not much in Malibu besides the beach, and even then you wouldn't want to walk there.

There's a student parking lot at the end of Dorm Road where most people park. Only a few times has it been completely full, and my roommate's had to parallel park on the street.

Whats the problem with walking on the beach in malibu

There is no problem walking "on" the beach, hahahah it is gorgeous! The problem is walking "to" the beach! It is not an easy walk, although you have a fabulous view of the ocean it is a bit of a walk and the beaches that most go to is a drive away.
Also regarding the car. The lot almost always has space and yes having a car is a plus. My D doesn't use hers a lot because it is an old 65 Mustang so she usually rides with a friend, but she does use it enough to want to keep it there.

Ennaxor, since you are there, can you give me some insight about how difficult the GE math class is. I am not a math person and believe it or not that may be the deciding factor for me. I think its titled " The Nature of Mathmatics". Any advice would be helpful.

My D is currently taking that class, she is not a Math person either! I know she isn't loving it, but getting by. I will ask more detail from her and let you know.

Sorry, but I don't know much about the math GE. I passed AP Calculus in high school, so I don't have to take any math here.

JC, thanks for checking with your daughter.
