Cars

How likely is it that i will be able to take a car as a freshmen?

I think you just have to sign up for it. The office said their policy changed since last year. They made it sound like it's easier to get a spot now.

Gas was 3.30 a gallon in SLO today...

it's 3.09 in LA :)

I'm bringing a bike instead. Hopefully I'll find myself a taxi buddy... haha kidding. I really don't think it's necessary to have a car if you'll be living on campus.

well, not really. it really for convenience. i definitely do not reccomend having a car to get from class to class. it would be beneficial on the weekends if you and your buddies decided to go out, but please, PLEASE make them pitch in for gas because you dont want to have yourself taken advantage of.
that being said, parking is really a bargain compared to the UCs... i believe its only around $320 every year while the UCs are in the ~$1000 range. if you want to have the option of going home whenever you're sick, homesick, etc. a car is good.
just make sure you wash it often due to the salinity of the air - that can corrode the paint and cause you big problems down the road.
also, if you guys are driving down 101, please be prudent - either buy radar detectors or drive speed limit. theres way too many cops to mess around. :X

Haha biyatch... if my parents were not driving I'd be going 101 North at 95mph when the flow of traffic is good =p

LOL.. well, we have plans huh justsomeboi?
h&k go to ___ (i dont think white castle's around, so we're gonna have to find some place else like that)

same here man.. shieeet. parents made me drive at 85 and i was itching to push the needle up and get to and fro in ~2hrs
