You have a great ACT score, a good record of ECs, but not so great GPA. I think you have a decent chance of admission if your class rank is high and you have taken rigorous courses thus far.
What is your class rank? It’s an important data point for admission to UMN.
Have you taken any AP classes and passed their exams? A challenging course load on your transcript will greatly help your cause.
The statistics for the middle 50th percentile (25th-75th percentile) of admitted freshmen in the fall of 2015 for the Carlson School of Management were: Class rank: Top 3%-13%; ACT score: 28-31.
Finish your junior year with excellent grades and register for honors and AP classes next year and you just might get that UMN acceptance letter that you’re looking for.
@chucktaylor1 our school doesn’t provide class rank. I will have taken 6 AP classes by the end of my HS career. I already have a 4 and a 5 on a couple of them.
@illini23 is that 33 ACT a best single sitting or a superscore? (UMN doesn’t superscore ACT or SAT)
@Mamelot my best single sitting score.
@illini23 You have a pretty good chance of getting accepted. Key is getting the Gold National Scholarship so you pay IS tuition. Otherwise, it would be good to consider UIUC.
