CAS applicants have it easier than Wharton applicants?

I know Wharton is the most competitive school at UPenn to get into, right?

I want to to ED to UPenn CAS. I think they can only select so many students ED to Wharton, but do they accept students regardless of the specific college they area applying to?

Because truth is, the most competitive kids who could get into HYPS that don't know exactly what they want to do in college yet, usually don't do ED to UPenn because it's binding. Many people who do ED to UPEnn, that know they want to go into business, the competitive applicants, are appyling to Wharton.

I don't think I'd have a very sure shot among the students applying to Wharton, for that reason. But for kids applying to the CAS, ED anyway, I think I do. So do they consider the school each applicant is applying to?

And I'm pretty sure I did all my research, but correct me if I'm wrong: UPenn has a great undergraduate focus, is good for neuroscience, and has great undergraduate research opportunities.
And they're better for me than Columbia for neurobiology/psychology/premed

While many people may choose not to apply to Penn early because they want to see if they can get in Harvard, Princeton, or Yale, but I’m sure there are still plenty of exceptional students who may have gotten into those schools that apply to Penn ED from what I’ve observed. This is for any of the undergraduate programs. Some kids I know did seem to have done quite a bit of significant scientific research. Early decision is a much smaller applicant pool, so even if there isn’t the sheer number of “super qualified” applicants, they still have quite a presence.
I’m sure Penn has a great neuroscience program, the medical school which regularly is grouped with Harvard and Hopkins is right next to the quad. But if you want to apply to Wharton, apply there. Every student I have talked to at Penn has said that it is incredibly hard to do an internal transfer to Wharton, some say it’s harder than getting in as a freshman.

I have a similar situation. The school and city really clicked with me, and I definately want to go. But I’m not entirely sure if I want to do something business related. I feel like a have a fair shot at CAS, but Wharton may be a stretch. I would hate to get rejected from Wharton and then wonder if their CAS would have taken me. I need to hurry up though. Time passes quickly. :/

Apply to CAS, and just dabble in Wharton classes that interest you. Worked great for me :)
