CAS vs. CALS?

Hi, I’ve been researching for an hour but am still having trouble deciding which school is the right fit for me. I want to major in biology with a concentration in animal physiology, which is available in both colleges. However, my original plan was to double major in international relations and/or minor in art history, which both I have strong interests/passions in (my main common app essay is about art history). If I majored in biology within CALS is there any way to get a dual degree in a different college or should I just apply to CAS?

hey!! fellow planned bio major here.
From the cornell website:
“The requirements of the major itself are identical in both colleges, although the individual requirements of the two colleges will result in biological sciences majors taking somewhat different overall undergraduate programs.”
biology is same in CALS and CAS, so if you want the possibility of a double major go for CAS

International relations isn’t a major; it’s just a minor. Anyone from any college can minor in it. Off the art history website, “The History of Art minor is designed to attract majors in related departments, such as American Studies, Anthropology, Art, English, History, Near Eastern Studies, Religious Studies, and Romance Studies.” I’m not sure whether that means other majors cannot minor in it or whether they are just not encouraged to.

Thanks guys!

You can pursue a minor that isn’t in your college, but I’m not sure about double majoring.
