I'm torn between applying to CAS and ILR. I know I want to a lawyer, however I'm not sure whether I want to practice international law or employment law. Which school would be a better fit for me?

Just look at the programs of both. ILR will give you a very broad education in things like problem solving and conflict resolution, and they send dozens of students to law school every year (close to a 100% of students who apply to law school are accepted). Neither school will give you a big edge when it comes to getting into law schools, though make sure you take a very diverse courseload and do well in all of the courses you take.

If you went to ILR, you would not be bound to practicing international law or employment law. You can do whatever you want, you decide in law school.

And if you're from NYS, ILR is about $15,000 a year cheaper....

Thanks to both of you for replying!

defintely go for CAS, if you decide to change your major it'll be easier to switch a major than switch schools.
