CASE 2014 Hopefuls

My son applied EA. GPA unweighted 3.85. 2240 SAT / Math level 2 780/Bio 730/Lit 700

Applying EA!!!

I want to know now!!! haha.

GPA: 3.4 SAT: 1990 (cringe for just missing) Top 11% (cringe for just missing)
a wicked lot of AP courses (8) well, at least more than everyone at my school :)

December 15th needs to get here soon.

Statistics indicate something like a 93% EA admittance rate…and I hear that the date is actually Dec 11.

Really? That’s weird.

The web site says

Early Action
This option is for intrepid students who wish to get a head start on the college admission process. Unlike the Early Decision option that some other schools offer, Early Action is non-binding.
Deadline to Apply November 1
Notification of Acceptance to Case By December 15

“Dec 11” is “By December 15” in most cases. ;)

geekmom63–Case is not as well known as some schools, but it IS prestigious and selective. Almost all the kids who go there have these same high stats! So you end up in a really good student body.

Hey you guys can somebody who applied to PPSP help me out??

I submitted my application kinda late on the deadline day (like, 11:40 ish) and on the common app, it says that all my materials have been submitted/downloaded. but i never got any “i got your application, here’s your id” etc. emails from case.

has anybody who applied to PPSP regular decision gotten such emails??

It took a while for Case to send me my info with an ID, I would say about two weeks after I submitted. I assume the same goes for the PPSP.

wait a minute…

i applied back in october and never recieved an ID

why is that?

arsenal–call them. You should definitely have received an email with an ID so you could check on your app and make sure all materials were in.

Hmm, my D didn’t receive an ID either and she applied (and had an interview) way before the deadline.

I didn’t know they sent out IDs.

My ID came in a physical letter about three weeks after I submitted my EA app (which was submitted in early October).

Call and ask about an ID.

Are decisions posted online or sent via mail?

I couldn’t get an answer to that question from the admissions office today. I don’t know why they need to keep this a mystery.

They are posted online. I confirmed that with the admissions office today, and they said that you will end up using your Case application ID to access the decision via the application status check link.

I applied EA and I just checked the status check thing online. It says

“Application Status Check is temporarily unavailable as we prepare to release Early Action admission decisions. Please check back on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 5pm EST.”

I’m hoping that we’ll hear sooner than that. Some of my friends are starting to get their early decisions back from other schools.

Does anyone know whether they tell you about scholarships at the same time as admission? That’s what I’m really curious about. I’m pretty sure I’ll get in, but I’m hoping for a big merit scholarship.

Good luck to everybody!

I recall Case sending an admit letter with the scholarship info in it. That’s the great thing about Case admissions. :)

Not sure if it also shows up on the status check page.

Good luck, everyone! (S is one of those waiting to hear.)

So does anyone know how much financial aid they give. Case is def. my top choice, but it comes down to how much money they give me. I’m pretty sure my family’s estimated financial contribution is like 35K. I have a 3.35 unweighted, 4.4 weighted. 57 out of 707. 760 math/730 cr/690 writing.

Will I get money? I want to be an engineer so I am OK with loans because I know there is always a high demand for us. (I’m also a girl, which I think helps a bit)

They have a couple of different merit scholarship levels…I think like 10k,16k,22k,27k. Something like that. I would think that a female engineering applicant with your SAT scores would get something.
