Reflection

Strengths: Essay and Recommendation are off the charts. Extra Curriculars are stellar. GPA is very good. Rank is excellent.
Weaknesses: ACT
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I was probably deferred due to a low test score. I know it sounds cliché, but I am just not the greatest test-taker. Not to sound arrogant, but about everything else in my application is close to perfect. I applied as an intended double major (Math and Philosophy), and my essay was subtly about my love for Philosophy. My EC’s also have some implications that I would be a great Philo major. Not too bummed out though. CWR was never my #1 anyways.
General Comments: Congratulations to everyone! This year seemed to be very difficult; 2300+ SAT’s were getting deferred!

Reflection

Strengths: Awards and Essays, made sure I showed interest.
Weaknesses: Grades.

Accepted EA, but no merit aid. To be honest I only applied to Case because everyone from my school with my stats seemed to get aid, but I got no aid…lol. But another girl with lower stats got aid…? Not sure. I’m thinking it has to do with demonstated interest since I showed no interest in the school. But congrats everyone! to those who got deferred, dont worry at all so many people get in after getting deferred, the chances are in your favor!

For those who think you weren’t accepted because of lack of interest, I only applied after Case Western extended the EA deadline for me and waived the fee, and I didn’t interview. I’m not trying to sound mean, but I’ve read on other things that interest isn’t super high on their list.

What on earth? I was deferred from Case, but I got into Vandy ED last night (and I just sent in my intent to withdraw application email to my other colleges) but I am really surprised I got deferred from Case. This was supposed to be my safety according to my counselor… many people got in from my school with lower GPAs and scores. Weird. Anyway,
