Case Western Fall 2017 Transfer

Hi everyone, just got my acceptance for fall 2017 at Case. Just looking to see if there is anyone out there who was planning to transfer to case in the fall and what your major/deal was.

I applied, but I am still waiting on my acceptance. When did you submit your application, and when was it complete? Also what is your major and GPA?

I’m an econ major

@EconSabre I submitted my application 2/15. I’m applying as a sophomore, so my 1st semester GPA was a 3.89 and my midterm report was a 4.0. Applied as a political science major

@marvin11 Congrats!

Did your portal update or did you get it in a mail?

I applied as an engineering physics major

@Shawnk11 I got an email saying my application has been updated. The admissions letter was in my portal.

I hope I get a decision by tomorrow. I have to pay a deposit to another university by May 1st.

@marvin11 Did you receive financial aid award with your decision?

@Shawnk11 It came three days later. I don’t know if that’s the normal timing though. It might come with your decision. I got no FA so I’m not even sure if I’ll be going yet bc it’s so expensive.

Hi All - I applied March 15th and have not heard back either. Did you hear yet Shawnk11?
Good luck to everyone!

Just got accepted. No financial aid letter either.

Me too!! thanks for letting me know

@Michelina Did you get your financial aid?

I just was accepted too but no financial aid package

Just called, you all should be getting a financial aid package soon. There was an error they weren’t aware of.

@RunnerDude14 I got my financial aid package today! Thanks for calling!

They gave me zero dollars… not sure why.

@RunnerDude14 Same, there’s no way I can afford to go here without taking upwards of $150k in loans

Case Western is horrible school. Do not come here

@SuperAzn69 Why did you pick CWRU? What is not meeting your expectations?

When I first chose Case, I believed that it would offer me superior, challenging academics in a stimulating environment with a diverse student body. However, Case has gone below that expectation. Although many of the engineering classes are difficult( it’s engineering), the humanities, premed, and Weatherhead programs have been relatively watered down compared to other state schools. For example, my economics classes have multiple choice tests and are taught at a high school level. The pre-med classes are easier compared to other top private universities and state schools. Many academic departments are so small that there are understaffed and have horrible professors. During my time here, I have not felt any personal or academic growth in me. In regards to the environment, Case is a relatively small, closed up kind of campus. Most friend groups are formed within a month of arriving here my freshman year, so it would be relatively difficult to make friends.
I would not recommend gong to Case unless you are “broke” or if it’s the best school you’ve been accepted to. It’s clearly not worth the time to consider this school since many state schools in the Midwest have similarly ranked, if not, superior programs to Case.
