Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew how good Case’s architecture program is, or what kinds of graduate schools their students go to for architecture
Thanks!!
I looked at Case-Western’s BA Pre-architecture curriculum. It appears to check all the boxes for the courses required for Master of Architecture admissions, e.g. art studio, art history, calculus, physics; however, architecture doesn’t seem to be the main focus of the Department of Art History and Art, either in history or in studio.
MArch students come from a wide range of undergraduate backgrounds, so as long as Case fulfills your own preferences in an undergraduate school, studying there wouldn’t preclude admissions to any MArch program-- but I wouldn’t consider Case to be a “destination” for a BA/BS in architecture in the same way that universities with professional architecture departments would be, like WUSTL, Tulane, Cincinnati, Michigan, Princeton, Northeastern. There are quite a few others in this category in varying degrees of selectivity and affordability.
My suggestion would be to ask Case directly how many students major in pre-architecture and what they have gone on to post graduation. Sally Levine (sally.levine@case.edu) appears to be the go-to person for architecture.
Thanks @momrath !!!
