Do you know when results come out?

12/17 probably, as per their website: https://admission.case.edu/apply/deadlines/

hah so itā€™s been delayed to 12/19 as per email: ā€œwe anticipate that Early Action and Early Decision I applicants will receive an email providing a link to the secure webpage with their admission status on Monday, Dec. 19.ā€

UGHHHH if I wasnā€™t already anxious enough!!!

@chemisdie
Same, the wait is killing me.

If you donā€™t mind, could we add the amount of merit aid people received? I think itā€™d be useful to future applicants who would want to know if they could afford it or not and CWRU is supposed to be pretty formulatic with the merit they give.

@AAloneOrchid I second this. BTW, little tidbit of information, apparently 75% of accepted students receive scholarships

[ul]
[li]Teacher Rec #1: math teacher (meh, didnā€™t really know him, but I thought I needed a math person to balance my literary side)[/li][li]Teacher Rec #2: Theory of Knowledge / English teacher (probably good because heā€™s a good writer, but tbh didnā€™t have anything special with him)[/li][li]Counselor Rec: IB counselor (I hope itā€™s okay, but she tends to leave things to the last minute so the quality might not be the best & again, Iā€™m not very good with teacher relationships)[/li][li]Additional Rec: school orchestra director (hopefully good because sheā€™s known me for 4 years now, but tbh nothing special between us)[/li][/ul]

Daughter just got accepted. She had 31 (32 super score) ACT. Lots of EC & leadership. 5/460 class rank. High GPA. They gave her $13500 a semester. Pretty sure she wonā€™t accept.

Good luck to the rest of the kids applying.

Reflection:
Strengths: Test scores, ECs, letters of recommendation, essay, interview, strong interest (I went every available route I could think of)

Why you think you were deferred: I think it all came down to my GPA not being up to par with everyone elseā€™s. Iā€™ve been solid except for 10th grade, where I had 4 Bs, and a C. I usually get 1 or 2 Bs a year, but that was a bad year for me.

Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted to Pitt, Drexel (Founderā€™s Scholarship), OSU, Penn State University Park, deferred from UIUC, waiting on Wisconsin-Madison, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, Georgia Tech, RPI, Northwestern, UMD College Park, and Boston U.)

Rec 1: 10/10 excellent. Had him for 2 years & was only motivated kid in class. He thought very highly of me
Rec 2: probable;y 8/10 or 9/10? for sure wasnā€™t bad but was probably not as stellar as Rec 1

I wrote about the attack at my high school and how I healed from the trauma. I spoke about each step from the attack my freshman year to the one year anniversary and up until this year graduating. I wrote it through the use of the lyrics of a song. Iā€™d give it a 9.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):

Weaknesses: SAT score.
Why you think you were accepted: My extracurriculars and essay. They were both pretty unique. The letter had a P.S section that said ā€œIā€™m impressed youā€™re a published authorā€, so Iā€™d say that.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I was accepted to Penn State, University of Pittsburgh, Washington and Jefferson

General Comments: It didnā€™t say anything about merit in the acceptance letter so I guess I didnā€™t get any??? Kinda disappointing seeing my brother got a lot. But Iā€™m still SOOOOOO excited I got accepted
