case western reserve university ppsp

Hello all,

I just finished my junior year and, like most of you on this site, I am racking my brains to figure out what college I want to go to. Case's ppsp program is really appealing to me and I was just wondering if it was realistic for me to even dream of getting in. My GPA is around a 3.93 (not sure if weighted or unweighted) and my SAT score is a 2070 (I didn't really study so I'm retaking in the fall for at least a 2200). I really don't have too many extracurriculars but I have been at case my whole life. I took a geometry class over the summer there. I was in one of the engineering buildings when I was on my school's robotics team (FRC) and now I am completing my third year of research at a lab at Case. I am a published research author, I have three or four publications now and should have six by the time I graduate. I am also planning on volunteering at a local hospital for a year. If anyone has had any sort of experience with the ppsp program please give me some feedback on how I look as an applicant or what I can do to make myself more appealing as a candidate. Thank you and good luck to everyone else!

anybody at all have any info?

Your EC’S are quite impressive. If you are applying for medicine (which I assume you are) then they are definitely relevant. Your SAT score is actually fine for Case; my sister is going there next year and it’s not a very competitive school in terms of scores–I think hers were lower than yours. Good luck! Could you chance me for Princeton, please? Thanks!

bumppppppp

When applying to medical school, the interviewers/admission counselors want to see proof that you know full well what you are getting yourself into, and that in 4 years, you will not be having second thoughts about matriculating. Committing yourself to a post-baccalaureate career while still in high school is a serious thing. The more years of shadowing, job experience, clinical volunteer experience, etc., the better you will be.

Also, check out SDN for more PPSP info
