Hey, so just a bit of background. I have a big grant from Case so I can afford that easier than GT. I am going for Biomedical Engineering and want to get heavily involved with research. I have come from a small school and would prefer to know my professors. I just wanted to get advice from anyone who has been to either of these schools. How likely am i to get research positions? What are the girls like haha? Just useful and pertinent information. How is the general vibe? Anything would be great! Thank you!!!

It seems that you have answered your question. In terms of opportunities, these three things can be great factors: Public vs Private; Small vs Big; Scholarship vs Loans/out of pocket. So for opportunities, I would say less is more due to population and competition, finances… Money matters A LOT…etc. In terms of Women…, well…, that’s in the eyes of the beholders!!!.
CW - about 10k students, almost 1:1 male: female ratio, Private.
GIT - about 20k plus students, almost 2:1 male: female ratio, Public…GOOD LUCK!!..lol

I think Case Western Wins here. Again just my humble opinion…

My (twin) cousins go to Case Western as Biomedical Engineers. They love it and are enjoying their time there. I have no prior experience with Georgia Tech, but with the greater affordability of Case I think that that would be a good option for you. Have you visited? What did you think?

Not only is it cheaper but the male-female ratio is better than 2-1. And at Case you might actually have time to date! Case is a very good school.

@ccco2018 Thanks a lot, those are a lot of great points! I think you are probably right! and yeah the ratio is a lot better at CWRU haha, thanks!!

@uaoruiuc Thats great to know, i appreciate it. Yes I visited and i absolutely love the campus, it feels like it fell out of the Renaissance or something! GT also has a great campus as well, but i think CW wins there too. Thank you!

@jkeil911 hahaha very true, thanks!:)

Any other opinions guys?

CWRU seems to be the better choice here according to your criteria ( cost, academics, male:female ratio, social life…)
