What are the chances of getting substantial scholarship at Case Western? My daughter has a 3.8 unweighted GPA and ACT score 31.
That profile Is on the low side for admission, let alone merit, especially for engineering. It is a free application and gets lots of high stats kids seeking merit. I would say there is no chance of “substantial” merit.
I would suggest looking at some of the recent threads and compare your child’s gpa/act to students who have been admitted/rejected/waitlisted and what Merit they received.
Last year I saw:
Financial Award: $33500
Objective:
SAT :didn’t submit
ACT :32, 33 superscore
SAT II: didn’t submit
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.6
Weighted GPA: 4.8
but also
Financial Award: $5,000
Objective:
SAT : 1310 (660 CR, 650 M) - didn’t send
ACT : 30 (34 R, 32 E, 28 M, 28 S)
SAT II:
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.7
Weighted GPA: 4.0
Is OP looking for FA or merit?
Merit is possible but I suggest running the net price calculator as Case Western is a full needs meet school. We didn’t qualify for any federal financial aid but case met very close to our EFC. It is a CSS profile school.
There are some merit scholarships that all students are eligible for, but then there are others that you have to apply for.
