*****CASE WESTERN UNIVERSITY RESERVE RD 2019 thread*****

I was waitlisted. I’m an international student

@WhatGoesUp‌
If you still need help here is the link (click link): https://go.case.edu/account/logout?r=https%3a%2f%2fgo.case.edu%2fapply%2fstatus

You should have gotten your username and set up your password a while ago (username is probably initials followed by a number). If not, the email they sent today has instructions to get it set up.

waitlisted. 2130 sat score 3.75 uw gpa. ugh. i really wanted to get in…

Ayyy got accepted!
Also got " Music Performing Arts Scholarship at Case Western Reserve University" Full Tuition!

I have been waitlisted here I was really excited about Case any advice on how to demonstrate my interest to the college

Got accepted! Was the safer of my top 3 schools (Northwestern, CWRU, and UChicago). Got waitlisted from UChicago but I’d be happy going to Case. Good luck to everyone else!

Waitlisted (ACT33, SAT 2050)… Visited last year, sent e-mail confirming the interest in CW, it is really a top choice. When will they send the final verdict if taken off waitlist of rejected?
Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!

Accepted, international, but no idea about financial aid. :smile:

Where do you guys find that info?

@klanfa‌ to the right of my decision letter are the “next steps”. The second one had a link to FA. Click on the link and login. Go to the tab that says “awards by term”.

@psithurisma‌
Thanks, it has actually just appeared :smile:

30.4k per semester, with 1.5k of University Loan through Staley fund. :slight_smile:

For some reason I received no notification that decisions were to be released today. I just stumbled on the CW forum here on CC and I found out they were out!

Accepted with 27.5K/yr scholarship, zero interest shown though. I probably won’t go though because the cost of attendance is still three times as expensive as that of my state flagship.

I also had a sentence at the bottom of my acceptance letter with a P.S. about one of my ECs (my internship at a lab). I am not sure if they just pulled that off of my app for no reason…

Waitlisted! But it’s okay. I guess…

Waitlisted. Its my first WL. I guess they knew that case was my safety and that i wasnt going to matriculate anyways:(

By any chance, did any of you applied to the Case PPSP program and didn’t get it either?

Waitlisted, not fussed at all, just amused.

@allenplay Have you applied for need-based aid? On top of a similarly generous merit aid offer, Case added approximately $10,000 in grants and work study to package for DS that brought tuition cost within $4000 of our state flagship before loans. It is likely down to Case and Rochester for him; will be visiting both in a few weeks.

@hopefulperson Don’t take it personally; a lot of excellent sub-Ivy League schools like Case and Tulane are now waitlisting obviously overqualified applicants in favor of students who are more likely to matriculate. Those in this pool who subsequently make it clear that Institution X is his or her dream school and can provide compelling evidence to support their claim are almost always admitted. From your tone, it sounds as though Case quite accurately detected your apathy and responded accordingly.

Eh, I have another safety lined up. I wasn’t sure if I’d get what I wanted from it, that’s why I applied to Case in the first place. I’m glad Case didn’t waste their time/potential money on me, and I hope that they get what they want from the people they do accept.

I was waitlisted by Case Western this morning, so I guess I’m headed to my state flagship’s honors program. I was accepted to WashU but didn’t receive any financial aid. I suppose saving money will be a positive for grad school, but I can’t help but feel really disappointed with how I’ve fared with college admissions.

Here are a few of my stats: 3.80 GPA, 34 ACT, Top 5% class rank, nationally-ranked for my sport, nationally-recognized nonprofit work, solid internships each summer, extensive in-school leadership in a couple clubs, and national/international awards.

Huh… for maybe the first time ever, reading a college confidential thread has actually helped me feel less anxious and less worthless.
Also WL’d with a 97% UW, 2320 SAT, many extracurricular awards and leadership positions.
I really didn’t expect to be waitlisted here. I really hope it really was because they didn’t think I wanted to go there (what happens without supplement essays, I guess) rather than because of being international or something.
