CatCard - questions

What is a CatCard?

Is it required?

What places accept the CatCard?

How do I put money into the account when account is low (i heard about
a “Cash to Chip machine” - you put your CatCard and cash into the machine and the value will be transferred immediately to your SmartChip - but can I put money from a back account I have somewhere else into the CatCard)?

Can you use the CatCard at any off-campus establishments such as on University Bld. or elsewhere?

[The University of Arizona’s CatCard : CatCard FAQ](http://www.catcard.arizona.edu/catcardfaq/index.shtml)

The Cat Card is your student ID card. It also stores your meal plan money, as well as a smaller amount for laundry, etc. You can "reload" it online, using your "student link" account, or you can add money by stopping by the office in the student union. There is also the cash to chip option, which is a self-serve machine. If you have a Wells Fargo account, it is really easy.
The meal plan money is good at all markets and food vendors on campus. Papa John's pizza will deliver until 2 a.m. (or is it 3?!) even in the dorms, and you can use your Cat Card to pay.

Can I "reload' it even if I don't have a Wells Fargo account - I have a Chase account

Here is the info from the meal plan web site:
"Additional deposits can be made online, by mail, phone, facsimile or at the Meal Plan Office located in the Student Union Memorial Center: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, ATM debit, check and cash are accepted, or you can charge the student’s Bursar account. "
The SmartChip is also loaded to the Cat Card, but it is for laundry, parking, copying, etc. I think there is something like a $100 limit on those funds.
