@mrnephew Thank you. That’s what I keep telling myself.

I have heard it was 665 applicants for 65 spots (freshmen year). Not accounting for yield, that is under a 10% acceptance rate. Accounting for it, the yield varies between 60% and 70% each year (I’m a student, they talk it and about trying to raise it when addressing us on Revisit Days 1 & 2), so they will accept about 100-110 to account for those who choose other schools. Even then, it’s only about a 16% acceptance rate. That means (assuming Boarding School Review was up to date for last year’s acceptance rate) it dropped about 6% from last year, which is unbelievable, really. Either way, applicants this year dealt with the toughest by far, so don’t feel bad about a wait list or rejection. Cate may not have the reputation of an extremely selective school, but apparently that’s how it went down this year.

chances of getting of wl for incoming 11th grader? pm me

same issue ^

Alright, I PM’d you both.

I don’t think I’m going to wait to see if I’m taken off the wait list. Another school very eagerly accepted me, and I think that would be the better choice. But yet I’m still horribly indecisive. I have no idea what to do. :(

Love the school that loves you. Still, be happy you have an acceptance. Some students don’t have any options at all. But, you can call Cate Admissions and they should give you a straight forward analysis of where you stand, and whether you should take the other school’s offer or stay on the list (make sure you explain the situation.) Assuming the school you were accepted to can wait until April 10th for a decision, you can stay on the list for that period and hope for a spot to open up.

bump. Anyone going to Revisit on Friday?

We are going to the one in April. Let us know what you think after Friday @Msclvr! I hope that the WL moves for others…

@GMC2918 I will let you know. My D made contact w/ the cross country coach, who is going to meet with her and go over a summer training program. I thought that was really nice. So many disappointed applicants. It’s hard to read the posts. Breaks my heart.

11th grader as well .wl. who got accepted? are they going?

got accepted but i dont think i can revisit.
