I got waived for TOEFL because I started school in Canada and moved overseas to an international school due to my dads business. My first language was basically english.

What are my chances for Cate and Thacher? I know that both of these are really competitive schools and my SSAT scores are not that strong. But do I stand a chance? Thanks in advance! :D

I think your EC’s and grades make you a great candidate! Just remember both these school have very low admit rates.

Good Luck!

Thanks! But will my SSAT reading scores really hurt my chance?

I dont think your scores will keep you from being considered. It all depends on who they need for the class they are building and if you fit a spot. Having visited both schools, my interpretation is that they want a well rounded student and have a strong focus on sports. Your grades show that you value your education and are a good student.

I think now, just focus on keeping your grades strong and try not to worry too much. Its out of your control so just hope for the best!

Are you a U.S. citizen? If you are applying as an international student, especially as Asian, your relatively low reading could work unfavourably relatively more than the US applicants.

Your EC looks diverse but it would look better if you had awards or any concrete achievement (evidence of your special talent and committment in that area would be nice).

These schools are most competitive to get in, they are not less competitive than Andover or Exeter simply because of # of students they enroll each year.

I guess you have already visited those schools and hope that your interviews went well. An interview is more important than people think and it could tell them more than your numbers indicate. I hope you made the best use of that. Good luck and relax. I hope you have a good result.
