I'm signed up for EASC 150g right now. Is this a good class? I don't think it sounds great but I don't think any of the Category 2's do. Also, is there a group project or any class presentations?

For Category 5 I'm taking Women in Literature and Art and I heard there's a group project. Does anyone know if that's true/what it is/if it's hard/if the groups are assigned or you get to pick? I don't know anything other than there is one. Is this a good Category 5?

Thanks for anything you can tell me!

EASC 150g with Rosen for Category II is a fine choice. I actually think it’s the best one out of the Category IIs. I took it myself and I’ll give you a few tips. GO TO LECTURES. The first part of the class is fun because he shows popular media with asian content eg. The Simpsons go to Japan. After a few weeks, he begins showing documentaries and you have to watch them and take notes. For the midterm and final, he will test you on the books AND documentaries. People make the mistake of not coming to class so that’s why he’s beginning to test on the documentaries and the occasional special lecture he gives.

There is a term paper you have to write and exams to take, but that should be it.

Category V is more difficult. The ratings on the professors vary across the board. Some of the ones that are recommended to me before were Fairy Tales, “something” Los Angeles with Chris Freeman, and Russian Art with Bowlt. Honestly, getting the Cat V you want is very hard because the spots are so limited and barely anyone switches out of the good ones. I have no idea how hard your women class is, but I would’ve avoided it if I was registering for Cat V again. But then again your professor may be awesome…
