Hi! I am a freshmen needing to take writing 140 next semester, and I am stumped! I don't know what to take! Are there any category 6s that you would recommend? I want something interesting, but not too hard...I'm willing to work for good grades, but I want to make sure that hard work will pay off! I wanted to take Changing Family Forms, but it seems that the class is already filled up. Others that sounded interesting to me are The Holocaust (though this doesn't fulfill the diversity requirement) and Gender and Sexualities in American History. If anyone has taken any of these classes, or anything else fun for that matter, please let me know!

I posted the same question a few days ago:

Whatever you do, do NOT take The Holocaust. My hallmate, who's Jewish, thought it would be interesting, but she's really hating it right now.

Changing Family Forms isn't filled up. There should be about 50 spots in Musick's class and 100 in Biblarz's.

wow. haven't been here in FOREVER.

anywho, yes, WRIT 140. :(

Actually, I've been doing really well in that class, with As on 3/5 papers.

I liked my category 6 (art in social conflict) but it's not being offered in spring.

My S is taking some sociology course with his writing class (the other course he could have taken required a 20 page paper). He says it's OK, but don't know the name of the course or it's category.

Ooh wait, please check! I'm taking "Social Problems"...it might be the same one!
